Pakatan Rakyat must not use gag orders as an easy way out to skirt around problems

September 27, 2011 -- When an ostrich buries its head in the ground, it is its way of hiding away from something which causes it discomfort.
Pakatan rakyat’s handling of the entire hudud law controversy can be likened to the proverbial ostrich with its head stuck in the ground. This is epitomized with the three Pakatan Secretary General instructing their classic “gag order” syndrome in an effort to contain the fallout after PAS’ adamancy on hudud’s enforcement in Kelantan and eventually to establish the Islamic criminal code at the federal level, as opposed to DAP’s chairman Karpal Singh is the lone ranger to openly condemn PAS.
